Arad completed his double BSc degree (Materials Science & Engineering and Chemistry) in 2017 at Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He then joined the Bio-Inspired Surface Engineering and Biomineralization Lab led by Prof. Boaz Pokroy as an MSc student, and later continued in the same lab as a PhD candidate. His PhD thesis focused on the incorporation of organic molecules into synthetic crystals, and the effect of such incorporation on the physical properties of the hosts.
Current Research
In 2023, Arad was awarded the Blavatnik Postdoctoral Fellowship and joined the Department under the mentorship of Prof. Thomas Bennett. In 2024, he became a member of the PAM group. Arad’s research focuses on the formation and properties of hybrid perovskite glasses, with particular emphasis on their melt processing and thermal stability.
