Biography

Larissa joined the group in July 2023, initially as a postdoctoral research associate on the ERC-funded SPECTRACON project. Originally from Brazil, Larissa studied her BSc and MSc in Physics at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, in Florianopolis. She then moved to Durham University, UK, as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Early-Stage Researcher in the group of Prof. Andrew Monkman, where she undertook her PhD studies investigating the photophysics of organic materials for application in organic light-emitting diodes and liquid crystals, including thermally-activated delayed fluorescence.
Current Research
In October 2023, Larissa begins a prestigious 3-year 1851 Research Fellowship hosted in the Photoactive Materials group. Her project will focus on the exploration of stimuli-responsive liquid crystal host materials for energy upconversion systems.
